2012 National Veteran Job Fair, Small Business Conference and Expo on June 26- 28, 2012 at the Cobo Center in Detroit.

Thursday, May 17, 2012

More than 5,000 job vacancies will be on the table at the VA’s National Veterans Job Fair on June 26- 28, 2012 at the Cobo Center in Detroit.  Veterans from all over the country are invited to attend the event and meet with employers who are interested in hiring Veterans from a variety of geographic locations.

"Assisting our Veterans in finding employment is one of our top priorities within the VA," said Michael Anaya, Acting Hines Director.  "Their military training and experience make Veterans a real asset to employers.  Events like the job fair in Detroit are a great way for us to link Veterans up with companies and vice versa.  It’s a win-win situation and very much worth a trip to Detroit."

VA is also hosting a National Veteran Small Business Conference, set to take place June 26 – 29, 2012, also at Cobo Center in Detroit.

Attendees will come from all levels of federal, state and local government agencies, the small business community, research institutions, contractors, large businesses, Veterans, entrepreneurs and more. This is the largest nationwide conference of its kind and focuses on helping Veteran-owned businesses maximize opportunities in the federal marketplace. Last summer’s conference in New Orleans was a great success. Nearly 6,000 participants are expected to attend this year.

This conference will provide the opportunity to connect with procurement decision makers from other businesses and federal agencies; expand knowledge through over 200 training and business requirement sessions; engage with other attendees and gain visibility in the Expo Hall of nearly 500 booths.
