Diabetes Basics - Two Class Series

A two-day class for Veterans with diabetes. The class provides a detailed overview of diabetes. Topics include:
  • Meal planning
  • Preventing complications
  • Stress management
  • Medicines
  • Physical activity
  • Coping with the disease
Also available via telehealth at Kankakee, Oak Lawn, and LaSalle CBOCs (outpatient clinics). Your health care provider must refer you to this class.
 
Mindful Path Practice Group

Explore mindfulness practices and possible challenges. Includes discussion and practice.

Peer support group that allows Veterans to act as team members to treat a Veteran “X”. Group helps each other problem solve, while gaining a better understanding of their own mental health and recovery.
