HINES VA INVITES VETERANS TO COMMUNITY TOWN HALL MEETING IN JOLIET
Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital is holding a community Town Hall meeting for Veterans who live in the area around its Joliet clinic, located at 1201 Eagle Street in Joliet and the site of the former Silver Cross Hospital. Join us for an opportunity to hear the latest information from Hines VA leadership and provide feedback about your experiences.
“This is a great opportunity for Veterans to learn more about the services we provide, updates regarding recently passed legislation called the Mission Act, and the work being done to improve our Joliet clinic,” said Steven Braverman, M.D., Hospital Director.
The Town Hall will take place Monday, September 10, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. in the clinic’s auditorium located in the basement.
The Joliet clinic provides a wide variety of services for Veterans, including:
- Primary Care and Behavioral Health Services and specialty referrals available
- Podiatry
- Basic Eye Care
- Physiatry
- Homeless Veterans Program
- Audiology
- Imaging including ultrasound and X-ray
- Laboratory: blood draws
- Prescriptions: routine prescriptions processed through the mail or My HealtheVet
- Cooking classes for diabetics
- Handicapped Accessible: full and easy access for all veterans ABOUT HINES
Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital is one of VA’s busiest and most complex medical centers, offering primary, extended and specialty care to Veterans. Hines VA is a tertiary care referral center for its region, operating 483 beds and six community-based outpatient clinics in Hoffman Estates, Kankakee, Oak Lawn, Aurora, LaSalle, and Joliet. In 2017, Hines VA completed more than 850,000 appointments for more than 58,000 Veterans.
